Trip Itinerary!

MOROCCO EXPERIENCE TWO DAY TRIP SCHEDULE

The Morocco Experience Two Day Trip itinerary is subject to change due to logistics, waiting time, weather conditions, etc.  All of the tour will be by private bus and boat (except for the walking tours).

Day 1

First, we have a morning departure towards Algeciras.  Upon arrival, we will board the ferry to Ceuta (Africa).  Next, we will cross through border control into Morocco and head directly to  Chefchaouen. Located in the Rif Montains, Chaouen is one of the most beautiful towns in Morocco. Blue houses, narrow streets, shops and astonishing views. We will begin with a delicious lunch buffet in Parador restaurant.

After lunch we will enjoy a guided tour of the historic center with stops to take pictures and learn about the beautiful blue streets.  We will also visit a Moroccan fabric workshop, where they will explain the work of the weaver men and women who make the typical Moroccan rugs and blankets.  After the tour, you will have some free time to wander, enjoy and shop in its quaint little stores, or enjoy a traditional Moroccan mint tea in one of the multiple bars in the city.

In the evening, we will continue towards Tetuan, one of the most important cities in North Morocco for dinner and rest at the hotel.

Day 2

First we will have breakfast at the hotel and then we will explore the city of Tetuan.  We will enjoy a guided tour in the old part of the city, kasbah and medina and a visit to a Moroccan pharmacy where you also will have the chance to get natural products such as argane oil, species, creams, etc.

Lastly, with a packed lunch in tow, we will depart towards Ceuta where we will take the ferry to Algeciras.  Then, we will take the buses back to our origin cities.

Evening arrival home.

***It is the full responsibility of all travelers to bring valid and correct documentation with them on the trips being passport and/or visas.

TO TRAVEL YOU WILL NEED A VALID PASSPORT!

Photocopies of either are NOT valid, you MUST bring your actual passport.

To enter Morocco, a passport valid for the duration of stay is required by citizens of countries that do not need a visa to travel to Morocco.

Some nationalities do need a visa to enter into Morocco.

* If you need a visa, the Moroccan authorities require six month validity on the passport, otherwise it only needs to be valid for the length of your stay. Erasmus Morocco Weekend Trip

everything you need to know!

PACKING

You may bring whatever size suitcase or travel bag that you like on the Morocco Erasmus Weekend Trip. There are no luggage restrictions.
It is always a good idea to bring warmer clothes for day or night.  Comfortable clothing and comfortable shoes are important for the walking tours.
The hotels provide towels and soap but not a hair dryer, shampoo nor conditioner, so bring those if you need them.

Girls, There are no restrictions on what type of clothing to wear in Morocco. It is completely accepted to wear more “Westernized” clothing such as shorts, sleevelesses, etc. You do not need to dress extra conservatively.

HOTELS & ROOMING

Hotel

We work with two different hotels.  Depending on the weekend, we may be in Yacouta Hotel in Tetuan or Golden Beach, located in the coastal town of M´Diq.

Wifi is available in the reception.

Any services not listed are not included in the trip such as extra hotel services like hotel phone, minibar, etc. which will have an additional cost to the traveler if they so decide to use them.

Rooming

Rooms are doubles and triples.
Individual rooms have an additional cost of 25€.
*If you are traveling alone and would like to avoid the single room fee, we will try to find you a roommate but it is not guaranteed.

MEALS

This tour provides Full Board (1 breakfast, 2 lunches, and 1 dinner)
The drinks are not included.

Vegetarian. Allergies and special conditions
Alternative meals are available in the hotels and restaurants.  You must let your guide or the restaurant manager know at the beginning of the meal.

CURRENCY & SHOPPING

The official currency in Morocco is the Dirham (Dh) and the difference is 1€=10Dh.
So if you change 20€, you will get 200 Dirhams in return.

You do not need to exchange money before the trip. You will be able to exchange in Morocco at the hotel receptions. However, you can pay in Euro everywhere and in Dollars in some places.

A good budget would be to bring between 50€/100€ to pay for drinks, shopping, etc.

Recommended Shopping:

  • Tetuan: In the Berber pharmacy visit: cosmetic products, spices, Argan oil, creams and medicinal product.  In the stores: ceramic souvenirs, leather products, and all types of gifts.
  • ChefChaouen: Fabrics, rugs, clothing, small souvenirs.

Prices in Morocco:

The prices are not fixed at the souvenir stores, so you can negociate prices.  It is part of the culture, so keep an open mind and have fun trying to get the best price possible!
